Confirmation Instruction
The students in grades 8-9 receive confirmation instruction. One of the requirements for Confirmation is Sunday School and church attendance. The goal of our Confirmation Program is to help young people to develop a deeper understanding of their Christian faith and a relationship with God. We understand Confirmation to be a time when young people can affirm the baptismal vows that their parents made on their behalf when many were baptized as babies. This is a step in their ongoing life’s journey in faith. Confirmation classes are held over a two-year period, usually the student’s eighth and ninth grade years. One year is focused on the Bible and the other year is focused on the Ten Commandments, the Apostle’s Creed and the Lord’s Prayer.
We invite you to be part of the year of learning as part of our Church family. You can join in as a learner, as a leader (a teacher, helper, or planner) or as one who suggests topics or new opportunities for learning and spiritual growth. So take a look at our ministry of Christian Education and remember: there’s a place for you!
