2013 Running in the Hills – The Results

Thank you so much for participating in/supporting the Running in the Hills event this spring!

We had 38 runners in the 5k today and several in the youth run. Despite the severe wind gusts and flying gravel, we had a great time! Below is a list of the race times. They will also be listed on the facebook page, the church website (Rollaglutheran.org), and on the bulletin board in the Rollag church.

We also ask you to comment on this post with comments and suggestions for next year. Your suggestions help us create this event so anything you have to say will be greatly appreciated!

Finally, we have set a tenative date of October 5th for our fall family Running in the Hills. More details will come forth on this event but we were thinking of adding a potluck following the race, possibly having an obstacle course (with the option to walk around the obstacles), along with other thoughts. If you have suggestions for this please let us know!

Under Construction

The process of remodeling the rear entrance of the church is set to begin at the end of February and will take approximately six to eight weeks to complete. This process will remove the long ramp and replace it with a more space efficient lift and set of stairs. The lift is large enough for an individual in a wheelchair and another person accompanying them. The remodel will also provide three more classrooms and much needed storage space.

** Important – For your safety, there will be a barrier placed in the doorway leading from the ramp to the upstairs (sanctuary level) during the construction. Please use caution around that doorway.

Church Items on loan

There will be a binder placed on the wall near the office door for signing out items that belong to the church. This will allow the office to know where the items are and who to contact if those items are needed. If you need to borrow tables, chairs, or some other church property, please sign those items out in the provided binder.

Ash Wednesday Services on February 20th

Since services on the 13th had to be canceled because of inclement conditions, we are going to have our Ash Wednesday services on Wednesday the 20th. We apologize if you arrived on the 13th. The decision to postpone services that night was made very late in the day, and road conditions had diminished rapidly in the late afternoon.

Services canceled today, February 10th at Gran, Park, and Rollag Churches. Valentines Day supper postponed until February 24th. Please be careful if you need to venture on the roads.

Zach Greene returns from sunny San Diego

Pastor Jim’s son Zach returned from San Diego recently where her completed his basic training. He came to church this Sunday dressed in his Marine uniform and he spoke briefly to the congregation about his future plans. Way to go Zach.
